JUO was proud to offer our services to RUAH Community Services as part of our ongoing charitable works for 2017.
Accommodated within an existing building that sits on historically important ground, a development application had to be prepared and lodged to satisfy the City of Fremantle’s requirements before works could start.
The fitout was a new build, designed to be economical and maximise natural daylight penetration into the workspace. The built form was consolidated and located to flank a secure entry space for clients, whilst a virtual reception point and casual furniture for the client rooms revitalised RUAH’s presentation into a modern and compassionate organisation.
Staff security was also reviewed as part of the project and emergency doors introduced into each client room as a secondary egress point for staff should an incident occur.
Beyond the client area workstations occupy the remainder of the front of the building. These workstations were configured to be used as hot desks with shared storage and dual monitor arms allowing the desks to be kept clear and easy for any staff member to use the next day. Colourful fabrics graduated across the workstations break the monotony of workstation rows, all offset by a colourful background of indigenous imagery on the glass partitions and individual artworks hung on the walls, all created by RUAH’s client base.
To the rear of the property a cavernous room was transformed into a multipurpose space that can be used for staff meetings or client workshops. New carpet, paint and an acoustic ceiling system visually break up the space and soften it ready for any application.
Overall the feel of the space is relaxed and comfortable for both staff and clients.
